Residential Counselor

A local San Francisco Non-Profit Healthcare organization providing mental health care, social services, and academic support for children and youth is seeking a Residential Counselor.

Direct hire, permanent position accepting candidates immediately for next week's interviews.

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt role. Wed. 10:30-12:30 noon and 2:00pm-10:00pm,Thurs .and Fri. 2pm-10pm and Sat. 8am-10pm and located in the Sunset District of San Francisco.

Salary: Hourly $22.03 -$28.64

Residential Counselors provide direct client services and care coordination for assigned youth and families within a designated program. This includes assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment and care plans.

Competencies and Tasks:

  • Collaborates with treatment team members
  • Coordinates and facilitates care
  • Provides case management, mentoring, and coaching
  • Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships
  • Generates written and verbal reports

  • Adheres to agency protocols
  • Meets program documentation standards

Applied Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to physically hold and/or restrain children
  • Must apply for, or possess, a National Provider Identification (NPI) Number within one week of hire
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid California Driver’s License or able to obtain one
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work experience in a child-centered agency preferred
  • Ability to adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team approach
  • Ability to make informed decisions independently
