Responsibilities:

  • Uncovering Hidden Strengths:

Put on your detective hat and conduct comprehensive assessments to uncover trauma-related symptoms, emotional needs, and mental health issues in foster and high-risk youth.
Join forces with social workers, caregivers, and medical professionals to gather all the pieces of the puzzle and develop personalized treatment plans that truly make a difference.

  • Unleashing the Healing Power:

Utilize your expertise in evidence-based trauma-focused therapies, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to guide foster and high-risk youth on their healing journey.
Create a magical therapeutic space where youth can explore their trauma, develop coping skills, and unlock their hidden strengths.

  • Captivating Hearts and Minds:

Conduct individual therapy sessions that captivate and engage foster and high-risk youth, helping them address specific trauma-related issues, regulate their emotions, and build resilience.
Host group therapy sessions that feel like mini adventures, providing a supportive environment where youth can connect with peers, share stories, and learn healthy coping strategies.

  • Superhero Crisis Intervention:

Be ready to leap into action when crisis strikes! Assess and respond promptly and effectively, using your superpowers of crisis intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of foster and high-risk youth.
Work alongside youth, caregivers, and other involved parties to develop safety plans that create a shield against potential risks.

  • Collaborative Documentation:

Use your storytelling skills to keep accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. You'll be the guardian of important documentation in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Provide timely reports and documentation for court hearings, case reviews, and other administrative purposes, helping to bring the story of each youth's progress to life.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a master's or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field (your cape is optional).
  • State licensure or certification as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).
  • Specialization or certification in trauma-focused interventions (e.g., TF-CBT, EMDR, Trauma Systems Therapy) will earn you bonus points.
  • Show us your superhero experience working with foster children, high-risk youth, or those affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, or challenging childhood experiences.
