Human Resources Director: General

Job Description:

Reporting to the SVP, Employee Services, the position of Director, Employee Services will lead the HRIS analytics and overall compensation aspects of the Employee Services Department. This position will partner in the overall design, implementation, communication and administration of the company's compensation, health programs, 401 k plan, and required programs. This position also oversees Leaves of Absence administration and policy management, as well as systems administration and management for HR technology across the company's operations. Provides consultative services to Human Resources team members, management and employees regarding compensation programs, employee benefit plans/policies, legal requirements and claims issues. Recommends compensation, benefit and HRIS solutions that meet the business and strategic objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Create current/accurate reports regarding employee headcount (tracked via and HRIS/position control system).

  • Track employee turnover by Manager/Department to identify trends and provide recommendations to help address retention and mitigate future unwanted turnover.

  • Analyze data and statistics for trends with regard to recruitment practices, motivation and compliance with employment laws.

  • Recommend policies that will improve the culture within the company and suggest ways in which to hire the best candidates for the job.

  • Perform compensation analysis by position/area and recommend adjustments when and where needed based on the analysis performed.

  • Evaluate jobs and reviewing both existing and new positions and communicating the results of this to senior management.

  • Identify why candidates and employees choose to work within a company and. recommending areas in the workplace that can be improved.

  • Review job descriptions to impact positively on employee retention.

  • Perform staffing ratio analysis by area as requested by Department Leaders and make suggestions about staff hiring.

  • Track labor laws and provide recommendations for action when needed.

  • Compile results from employee surveys. Using the data recommend changes to improve the culture in the organization.

  • Implement relevant HR metrics in order to determine the efficiency and impact of the workforce (gap analysis).

  • Optimize and implementing new data processes and systems.

  • Compile reports of data results and presenting these to senior managers.

  • Identify short- and long-term goals to ensure top-notch employee performance.

  • Develop, implement and participate in a company wide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEi) Initiative.

  • Project Management - manage, track and hold accountable the projects leads for all agreed upon HR projects.

Education and / or Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role.

  • Experience using human resource management systems (HRIS).

  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and the ability to create charts, spreadsheets, and presentations.

  • Familiarity with HR operations, such as hiring, payroll, and employee compensation and benefits.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • An in-depth understanding of labor laws.

  • A high level of business
