Medical Biller

Job Summary

We are seeking an outstanding, energetic and driven Part Time Medical Biller to provide assistance to our nonprofit client working with the unhoused population. We need assistance in Account Receivables and Payables, processing reimbursements for the organization, collections, contacting partners for payment, and account reconciliation.

Job Details

  • Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 5pm
  • Pay: $25/hour
  • Onsite position in DTLA
  • Parking is covered for employees

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with our Recuperative care Directors and Managers to collecting pertinent information specific for all our our programs payors.
  • Review all of National Health Foundations guest who utilizes our Recuperative programs for billing accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile billing to all recorded revenue, probing any discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review, and submit claims using payor billing software or paper invoicing
  • Follow up on all unpaid claims, researching and appealing denied claims.
  • Accounts receivables and payables. Process reimbursements for the organization.

Qualifications

  • 2 years minimum of Account Receivables/Payables experience, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Familiarity with HIPAA (preferred but not required)
  • Have strong time management and organization skills, being able to work autonomously and in a team setting.
  • Strong Communication skills both written and orally, being personable and courteous over the phone.
  • Be able to analyze vast amounts of information, compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting findings.

Physical Requirements

  • Long periods of sitting in front of computer utilizing up to dual monitors.
  • Will need to be able to utilize computers, keyboards, and landlines independently.
  • Be able to communicate orally and verbally to our team via virtually, through instant messaging or over the phone.
