We are currently seeking an Activities Therapist to join our team in a temporary capacity, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. As an Activities Therapist, you will work under the direction and supervision of the Program or Center Manager to plan, develop, implement, and oversee activity program services for our participants. Your creative and individualized therapeutic activities will play a vital role in promoting the well-being and overall quality of life for our patients.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $31 - $42 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
Language Skills: Mandarin or Cantonese preferred
Temporary (3-6 months) with the potential for permanent placement
Responsibilities:
Implement and evaluate creative, individualized, and therapeutic activities aligned with participant care plans.
Train and teach activity aides and leaders on new activities, delegate assignments, and provide supervision.
Provide health education, training, and consultation to participants and family caregivers to promote well-being.
Plan and offer varied monthly programs, incorporating group and individual interventions to maximize participants' cognitive and functional abilities.
Collaborate with the Activity Specialist to plan and implement community outings, special events, and activity programming goals.
Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and orient appropriate volunteers for specific activities.
Document participants' involvement in activities and revise care plans as needed.
Actively participate in team discussions, offering feedback and suggestions.
Provide personal care assistance to participants as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in art therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, recreation therapy, occupational therapy, social work, or a health-related field from an accredited college.
2-4 years of professional work experience with the elderly or frail population in a healthcare setting within the last 5 years.
Experience working with older adults with dementia is preferred.
Compassionate, patient, and creative with strong social skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred. Written and spoken fluency in English is required.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid may be required.
Working Conditions:

Ability to function under stress and manage interpersonal and communication skills.
Work independently and effectively with shifting priorities and pressure.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, manual dexterity, and visual abilities.
Work environment may involve shared spaces with other clinical staff.
Personal protective equipment may be required.
