Triage Supervisor

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Triage Unit Supervisor for a temp to hire position, to oversee and manage the triage operations within our organization. The Triage Unit Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the triage process, adhering to our policies and procedures. This position involves supervising the Triage Unit staff, providing performance expectations to Triage Function staff, and maintaining a safe environment for employees, patients, and property.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor annual goals for Triage Operations across all service locations
  • Privilege RNs as Triage staff for executing Medication Refill function according to policies.
  • Manage and supervise the Triage Unit staff at the site
  • Ensure adequate staffing and distribute work accordingly.
  • Handle staff complaints, discipline when necessary, and recommend pay adjustments.
  • Ensure efficient patient care flow and appropriate use of medical supplies and equipment
  • Conduct staff meetings, communicate changes and improvement opportunities, and ensure staff attendance.
  • Perform triage responsibilities, including phone and face-to-face patient assessments, facilitating patient flow, recognizing urgent care needs, and documenting accurately.
  • Oversee dispensary operations as needed, ensuring compliance with regulations and proper medication management.
  • Initiate staff education in-services, review patient care educational materials, and recommend changes when necessary.
  • Promote an effective and efficient patient care environment, maintain professionalism, ensure confidentiality, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the State of California.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse, including two years in a nursing leadership position.
  • Recent experience in a clinic or outpatient setting.
  • BLS certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred.)
  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Thai, Khmer, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Spanish. (preferred)
