**Position Title:** Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
**Program/Dept:** Psychiatric Services – Redwood City
**Salary Range:** $33/Hr + Full Benefits Package
** Schedule ** M-F 8 am- 5 pm
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Licensed Vocational Nurse supports clients in need of psychiatric care within our Psychiatric Services. This care is primarily delivered in our clinic or within the community, with a focus on stabilizing clients and enhancing their independence, leading to positive clinical outcomes.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
- Attend assigned trainings, including medication update in-service sessions.
- Maintain effective communication with interdisciplinary teams to address client needs.
- Prioritize and resolve client concerns through triage communication, drawing on clinical knowledge within your scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, including electronic medical record uploads.
- Liaise with retail pharmacies regarding client medication requirements, clarification, billing inquiries, etc.
- Collaborate with insurance plans for client prescriptions requiring Treatment Authorization per Psychiatrist's discretion.
- Assist Psychiatrists in submitting necessary treatment authorization records to insurance and follow up on progress with insurance companies.
- Administer medications as prescribed by Psychiatrists, including long-lasting injections, and assist clients in scheduling medication-related appointments.
- Conduct focused assessments to monitor responses to psychiatric (and other) medications.
- Facilitate and monitor client compliance with labs/blood work ordered by psychiatrists and community physicians.
- Participate in treatment planning and the implementation of services to support client medication compliance.
- Drive either your own or agency vehicle to the main office, meetings, and other venues as needed; document and report mileage according to agency procedures to ensure timely service
**Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:**
- Passion for our organization's mission.
- California LVN or LPT license.
- Preferably, one year of experience working with individuals with SMI/DD; familiarity with social rehabilitation is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including email and internet navigation; experience with Human Service Information Systems preferred.
**Special Requirements:**
- Must pass a criminal records clearance.
- Occasional driving required; valid California driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance essential.
- Must pass post-offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests.
- Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
