Chief Executive Officer

We are partnered with one of the most reputable hospital systems in LA to find a Chief Executive Officer at a top-rated hospital in South LA.

The hospital itself is smaller (roughly 200 beds), but modern, and provides many specialty services such as a Family Practice Clinic, Sub-Acute Care, Rehabilitation Services. Primary Stroke Center, Comprehensive Wound Care. The ER is bustling and sees close to 100-200 patients, and patient population is typically lower acuity than a community hospital, although the emergency and surgical teams have the most advanced technology and skilled surgeons available.

You'll work report directly to a dynamic Board Certified Health System CEO with over thirty years of senior leadership experience who will give you all the support you need, but has a “bottom-up” decision-making process that will give you the final say on just about every decision imaginable!

Essential Functions:

  • Establish long-range plans to support the hospital's values, vision, customer service and general objectives
  • Organize hospital functions through delegation of duties, appropriate departmentalization and maintaining accountability from managers
  • Design and implement an effective Business Plan to meet hospital occupancy goals and objectives
  • Integrate the hospital with the community through effective communication and public relations
  • Maintain affiliations that enhance professional growth and insure awareness of the latest trends in hospital administration
  • Partner with physicians who use, or will use, the hospital; taking a leadership role in the recruiting and retention of physician
  • Ensure the hospital meets necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations in conjunction with the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer
  • Review and act on inspecting agencies' reports
  • Prepare annual budget including internal financial controls
  • Assist in planning new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue
  • Create an environment that will encourage the recruitment and retention of qualified hospital employees
  • Manage costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Analyze areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities

Requirements:

  • While prior hospital / medical center Chief Executive Officer (CEO) experience is a plus, we will also consider a talented Chief Operating Officer (COO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a c-suite role at a hospital
