Job Overview: As a Family Service Advocate, you'll play a pivotal role in our Black Infant Health Program. This role empowers you to make a significant impact on participants' lives. Join us in a mission defined by compassion, empowerment, and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure meticulous documentation in line with program and grant requirements.
  • Embrace and support the Black Infant Health Program's principles, fostering cultural competence, client-centered care, and cognitive building approaches.
  • Lead engaging group sessions, from preparation to facilitation, promoting positive change.
  • Facilitate various groups and trainings, such as nutrition and breastfeeding.
  • Maintain a caseload, providing one-on-one support to participants.
  • Support recruitment and engagement efforts.
  • Be a curriculum expert, ensuring every activity serves its intended purpose.
  • Collaborate on administrative tasks to keep our program running smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience providing direct services to women and African Americans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, or related field.
  • You'll receive facilitation training to lead groups effectively.
  • Access to reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements:

  • Valid Class C California driver's license and current California automobile insurance.
  • Current certification as a breastfeeding educator or willingness to pursue it.
  • TB test upon hire and every four years.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.
