Pediatric Dentist

We are seeking a General Dentist (GD) to join our dental department and provide exceptional dental care. This is a temporary 3-6 month contract opportunity with a nonprofit organization in Oakland that works with the underserved Native American population in the bay area! The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a sense of humor, demonstrates kindness and compassion towards patients of all ages, and is available to start within the next few weeks - 1 month.

2 roles are open! We have an opening for Pediatric Dentist (working with ages 0-11 years old) and another opening for General Dentistry! (12 - geriatric population)

Schedule: M-F with 1-2 Saturdays a month (Would have a modified schedule when working Saturdays- A day off during the week)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality dental services, including preventive screenings and oral health education.
  • Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform dental procedures such as extractions, endodontics, prosthetics, and restorative services within your expertise.
  • Interpret dental radiographs and lab results for effective communication with patients.
  • Instruct patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene, and appropriate diet.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update registration information.
  • Collaborate with the dental team and support clinical data collection and reporting.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Provide care on Saturdays and after-hour clinics when needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, guests, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma from an accredited School of Dentistry and a valid dental license in the respective state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least two years of experience in providing dental care.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in dental procedures.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented and a team player.
