One of our top non-profit clients is in need of an extra Medical Assistant! Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role involves providing professional patient care in collaboration with physicians and the team, serving patients from neonates to geriatrics in the back office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Update and maintain electronic health records.
Record vital signs.
Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments.
Dispose of expired medications and supplies.
Perform point-of-care testing.
Provide interpretation (English/Spanish), HIV counseling, and family planning guidance.
Assist in various medical procedures.
Handle patient messages, medication refills, and abnormal test results.
Maintain vaccine records.
Dispense birth control.
Conduct medical tests and participate in evening clinics.
Provide training to externs and volunteers.
Serve as Lab MA as required.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of laboratory tests, terminology, and equipment.
MA certification from an accredited program.
CPR with basic life support card (current).
