Sr. Financial Analyst

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Full Time and Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Salary Range: $81,172.00 - $93,347.00

Role Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will ensure that all programs under their oversight align with established processes and controls. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with financial planning, budgeting, financial statement analysis, developing financial models, preparing projections, and conducting research and analysis as required. They will work closely with program managers, directors, and executive management, serving as the key liaison between finance and programs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage government and foundation grants/contracts and budgets.
  • Build and manage financial reporting capabilities, dashboards, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and revision of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide financial planning and analytics across the agency.
  • Serve as a liaison between funding agencies and program management to meet fiscal and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with department and program management on budget development and revisions.
  • Monitor and compare financial data to budgets to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct monthly and ad hoc financial analyses and projections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3-5 years of finance experience required, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience creating financial forecasts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong commitment to the mission.
  • Familiarity with multiple funding sources, including local, state, and federal government contracts.
  • Advanced understanding of financial and cost reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity with diverse groups.
  • Ability to analyze budgetary line items for compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $81,172 – $93,347
