Job Title: Associate Teacher – Early Care and Learning Program Location: North Hills, CA (Sepulveda) Pay: $23/hr
Summary:
The Associate Teacher supports classroom activities for children ages birth to 5, encourages family engagement, and assists in transitioning children into kindergarten.
Responsibilities:
Child and Family Interaction:
Assist with classroom management and child activities.
Support curriculum implementation and inclusive practices.
Communicate with parents about their child’s progress and conduct home visits and conferences.
Ensure a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Staff Support:
Aid in daily classroom routines and individual education plans.
Maintain professional communication and boundaries with staff.
Administrative Functions:
Submit accurate monthly reports and lesson plans.
Collect and interpret child progress data.
Ensure adherence to child abuse reporting policies and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements:
Education: 24 ECE units, including 3 in Infant/Toddler Development.
Experience: 6 months in a preschool setting or 1,000 hours in Early Care and Learning.
Certifications: CPR/First Aid, California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (or eligibility).
Skills: Intermediate tech skills, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
Additional Details:
Full-time, 40 hours per week with potential overtime.
Non-traditional hours may be required.
Must meet background and health clearance requirements.
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
2+ years in early childhood education, experience with special needs children.
Advanced tech skills, bilingual in English and Armenian/Spanish
