Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our leading nonprofit client. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, mission-driven organization. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the team with day-to-day accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper coding and timely processing.
Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with department heads to monitor and manage financial performance.
Assist in the preparation of tax filings and audits.
Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Assist with process improvements and automation of financial workflows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in nonprofit accounting preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $41.50
