Position: Early Learning Program Manager Location: Sylmar, CA Compensation: $98,051.20 per year
Position Overview:
Our leading nonprofit client is seeking a skilled Early Learning Program Manager to lead and oversee early childhood education services, ensuring compliance and quality while managing staff and programmatic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management (60%)
Manage the full employment cycle for assigned staff, including onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
Align staff goals with organizational vision and motivate staff to achieve KPIs.
Collaborate with the Learning Environments Manager on Practice-Based Coaching, data collection, and reporting.
Ensure effective staff selection, onboarding, and scheduling based on program needs.
Develop staff through professional development plans and permit support.
Hold supervisors accountable for center operations and quality education services.
Collaborate with internal teams and external leadership to ensure program success.
Compliance & Monitoring (40%)
Research, monitor, and ensure compliance with the Head Start Act, childcare licensing, and other relevant regulations.
Oversee the revision of policies and communicate updates to staff, leadership, and governance bodies.
Ensure timely reporting for compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
Lead action planning for continuous improvement efforts.
Promote agency goals through the Community Assessment and ongoing monitoring.
Non-Essential Responsibilities
Coordinate with community colleges for training resources and support enrollment goals.
Assist in the annual Self-Assessment of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
Lead staff training and career development initiatives.
Manage resources, equipment, and materials for centers.
Participate in mandated trainings, meetings, and organizational events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field, with 3 units in Infant/Toddler Development.
At least 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, including 3 years in a managerial role.
Must hold a Site Supervisor Permit or higher (California Teacher Credential).
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Outlook.
Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and regulatory compliance.
Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Program Director Permit based on the California Teacher Credential Matrix.
Advanced technology skills and ability to learn new platforms.
Bilingual in English and Spanish/Armenian preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Travel (10%): Local travel for meetings and trainings.
