Job Summary:
Our leading nonprofit client is seeking a Home Visitor to support caregivers and their newborns up to age 5. The position focuses on building strong parent-child relationships, promoting healthy child development, and connecting families with necessary resources. Services are based on the Healthy Families America model of home visiting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct surveys/assessments to determine program eligibility for parents and caregivers.
Provide home visits to families regularly, with weekly visits for the first 6 months after birth and less frequent visits thereafter based on family progress.
Follow guidelines for delivering research-based curricula to families.
Establish trusting relationships with families, promote positive parenting, and advocate for the family.
Assist families with referrals to other supportive agencies.
Help families set and achieve goals.
Conduct screenings to identify potential developmental or health concerns in children.
Represent the organization at community events, including client recruitment and funder activities (weekends may be required).
Complete required documentation to meet program standards.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Candidates within 6 months of obtaining their degree are eligible to apply.
At least two years of case management experience (formal or volunteer).
Home visiting experience is highly preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
Employee may need to complete additional training as necessary.
Must have a personal vehicle with the required insurance coverage to complete job duties.
Must have a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must pass a TB test and fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and booster (if eligible) by the start date (or approved exemption).
Working Conditions:
Primarily field-based with some office work.
Flexible hours may include evenings and weekends as needed for time-sensitive projects.
