Role Summary:
The Parent Partner works with a team to support children, youth, adults, and their families. They collaborate with parents/caregivers to ensure their needs are met, attending meetings like Child and Family Team (CFT), IEPs, and other relevant sessions. They provide services both in the field and office, helping families navigate and access necessary support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer peer/parent support to children, youth, and families to improve stability.
  • Connect families to community resources.
  • Build trust with families to ensure they receive necessary services.
  • Act as a representative for parents/caregivers.
  • Help families use both formal and informal support networks.
  • Link families to job-related resources and services.
  • Provide coaching on communication, problem-solving, and advocacy.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Attend required training and meetings.
  • Foster partnerships to support family wellness.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a parent/caregiver of a child involved with DCFS, Probation, or Mental Health Services, or a relative caregiver of a special-needs child.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Conditions of Employment:

  • May need additional training.
  • Must use a personal vehicle for work-related tasks, with proper insurance coverage and a clean driving record.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must complete TB testing and fingerprint clearance.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Exemptions may apply as per law.

Working Conditions:

  • Split between fieldwork and office.
  • May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
