Location: San Leandro, CA
Pay Rate: $23 - $24 per hour
Available shifts:

Thursday and Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. & Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Monday to Friday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Overview:
Our leading nonprofit client is launching a Peer Respite Program aimed at supporting individuals reentering the community from locked facilities. The program focuses on addressing mental health needs and preventing future involvement with the justice system. The 6-bed, short-term respite home is run by and for individuals with lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges. This role will support residents' recovery, mental wellness, and reentry into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide outreach, engagement, and follow-up services for residents
Serve as a role model, coach, and advocate for residents and their families
Accompany residents to appointments and assist with obtaining necessary services
Facilitate life skills groups, workshops, and activities to promote mental wellness
Collaborate with the Peer Advocate and Peer Director in case management and training sessions
Assist with housing, food preparation, and other daily tasks
Document progress notes and shift reports
Maintain confidentiality of resident information per HIPAA guidelines
Support quality improvement measures and County requirements
Assist with individual case management plans for each resident
Track key performance metrics and report regularly
Qualifications:

Certified as a Mental Health Peer Support Specialist or in progress
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of experience working with adults from diverse cultural backgrounds
1+ years of peer mentoring or coaching experience
Lived experience with mental illness, homelessness, or substance use recovery
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Experience in a nonprofit or community-based setting is a plus
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Proficient in MS Office and Google Drive tools
Valid CA Driver’s License and auto insurance
