Are you a certified Dental Assistant who thrives in fast-paced, community-based care? We're hiring a Temporary Dental Assistant to join a school-based health team delivering compassionate, high-quality dental care to youth across Oakland and San Leandro.

This full-time role supports both general and pediatric dental clinics at school-based health centers and is perfect for someone passionate about prevention, education, and equity in healthcare.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist dentists chairside using four-handed technique in general and pediatric settings

  • Set up trays, sterilize instruments, and maintain an aseptic operatory

  • Take digital X-rays, impressions, and pour study models

  • Support patient education with oral hygiene instructions for students and caregivers

  • Record vitals, prep restorative materials, and follow post-op protocol

  • Help coordinate school outreach events and dental screenings

  • Manage inventory and assist with administrative tasks like referrals and prescription follow-ups

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified Dental Assistant (DA) with at least 2 years of experience

  • Active Radiological Safety License

  • CPR/BLS certification (must be current or obtained before start)

  • Comfortable working with children and diverse populations

  • Tech-savvy with experience using dental software (Dentrix a plus)

  • Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills

  • Ability to travel between Oakland and San Leandro school sites (up to 25%)

  • Spanish language skills are highly preferred

  • Pay Range: $25.04–$29.52/hour
